James Rancil Cherry

James "Randy" Cherry was born July 11, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN and he passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the age of 69.

James was the son of Willard Rancil Cherry and Georgia Irene Black Cherry.  He was a member of the Hermitage Springs Church of Christ. He was a business owner where he climbed towers, changed lights, and painted towers.  He married Debra Cherry on September 18, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay Mckinney and brothers Danny and Michael Cherry.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Cherry; son, Steve with his wife Carrie Cherry along with his step-sons, Adam (Lindsey) King, Aaron King, Phillip and Clark Reeves, also his sister Toni Cherry and brother David Cherry; grandchildren: Dustin, Cassie, Elijah. Maximus Cherry, James King and Liberty Reeves; great grandchildren: Jacob and Bennett Lee.

Visitation will on Saturday, January 13, 2024, 12 noon to 1 pm at Clay County Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in the Chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with Adam King officiating.  Burial will follow in Jonestown Cemetery.
