Terry "Tata" Phillips

Terry “Tata” Gene Phillips was born October 5, 1962, in Frankfort, Indiana, and he

passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Tri Star Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, TN at the age of 61.

Tata was the son of William and Anne Phillips. He was a loving father figure to his “kids,” and he was one of the best moonshiners known for producing his smooth crystal-clear shine. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lisa Phillips Rolin and brother: William “Bill” Phillips; Special friends: Arno and Vicki Hatcher.

Survivors include his kids he never had: Craig Copess and Judy Hatcher; brothers: Ricky, Brett, James and Dewayne “Podge” Phillips; uncle: Jack Dodson; special niece: Kristy Greer; Grandchildren: Gracie, Bailea, Everleigh, Rhett, and Hatcher and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

The family has chosen cremation at this time. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
